On 21 October 2025, Mekong Cairnlea Vietnamese Aged Care collaborated with the playgroup from the Australian Vietnamese Women’s Association (AVWA) to host a heartwarming Lantern Festival celebration for our residents.
We were delighted to welcome Ms. Trinh Van – Treasurer of IERA-VIC, Ms. Huynh Bich Cam – President of AVWA, and Ms. Mai Huong – Member of the Committee of Management, AVWA.
The day kicked off with a lively lion dance, followed by adorable performances from the children of the playgroup — from Mid-Autumn themed dances to energetic aerobic routines!
To finish, our residents and families brightened up the garden with a lantern parade under the sunshine, filling the air with laughter and joy.
The success of the Tet Trung Thu celebration was greatly appreciated by the IERA residents.
The event has enabled IERA management proceed with plans to commence an IERA Playgroup when renovations to the ground floor at Cairnlea are finished this year.
